Apply for a Board Position

MEMBERSHIP: EWN Membership is $50 per year for an annual plan, which runs September 1st - August 31st each year. 

Members are included in our EWN Membership Directory, which is available to EWN Members who are logged into their account. New this year - Members will have the ability to add community events or available positions on the job board. Plus, connect with other EWN Members in our Community Portal.

In addition, Members of EWN will have a nametag available to wear during meetings and events, receive discounted prices on meetings and events, may opt to be featured on our website for a small fee, and will be invited to join our EWN Members Private Facebook Group, "Conversations & Connections," plus much more.

We want to emphasize that membership is important to keep us sustainable and help us grow as an organization, but you do not need to be a member to attend meetings. 

This type of membership is free and is for those interested in being a speaker/presenter at an upcoming EWN meeting.

Our board does the behind-the-scenes work that makes the Empowered Women's Network a fun, empowering, and wonderful community for local women. Our Board Members are amazing women, and we are grateful for your interest in joining us to make the magic happen! Here is some more information on us, and what we are looking for...

THE EWN season runs from September - May, but our board works year-round. If you are selected, we ask that you agree to serve 1-3 years. After your term ends, you can reapply after a one-year break - and we encourage it!

What are the requirements to serve on the board?

• Be passionate about connecting and empowering women!
• Hold an active EWN Membership ($50/year) during your Board term.
• Actively attend EWN events and meetings (we ask for at least 75% attendance), usually held on the 2nd Friday of the month, September through May.
• Attend monthly board meetings (we meet about 10 days before each meeting - we alternate between in-person and virtual meetings).
• Attend a 3-4 hour planning session in June of each year.

Expectations if selected as an EWN Board Member:

In addition to the requirements above, we are a working board - meaning that all board members are expected to volunteer their time and skills to make this organization function and flourish. We divide duties based on interest, ability, and time - do you have a unique skill or talent you can bring to the team? Make sure to list it in your application! During our in-person meetings and events, we ask our board members to help set up, take down, help with registration, etc., and prioritize making all of our members and guests feel welcome. We love a team player!
