Kay Biga, an attorney with Spott Law Office, will share her favorite negotiation strategies from her years as a business owner and world traveler. In this fast-paced and humorous presentation, Kay will share stories sure to educate us on all manner of negotiation "Dos" and "Don'ts." Â Learning from Kay's vast experience, the audience will be able to implement these negotiation strategies immediately in their own lives.
About Our Speaker
Attorney Kay Biga is pleased to be now working full-time at the Spott Law Office and is accepting new clients. She is a lifelong Duluthian and is very involved in the Duluth community. Kay is a Rule 114 Qualified Mediator and has worked with families and businesses to resolve disputes amicably. Kay Biga recently retired as an Associate Professor of Management and Business Law at the University of Wisconsin – Superior.  For twenty years she has taught courses in a variety of subjects, including business law, business ethics, real property, contracts, strategic management, and international business.Â
Since 1984, Kay has been the Chief Operating Officer of Biga Affiliates. Kay is known for her expertise in matters related to networking, strategic planning, and hiring and firing practices. Kay also serves as the president of the Pachel Foundation and is a co-founder of the Duluth Superior Eco Rotary Club. Kay is the District 5580 Governor for 2022-2023.
In addition, Kay and her co-authors Patrick and Emily Spott have recently published three papers: Â "How to Win Friends and Influence Students: Applying Networking Principles to the Teacher-Student Relationship" in the Journal of Higher Education Theory and Practice, "Keeping People Involved: Creating a New Model for Service Organizations" and "Smart Hiring in the Hospitality Industry: Business and Legal Perspectives" in the Journal of Management.
Kay has traveled to 117 countries over the past 40 years, including 8 months in India.Â

MEAL SERVICE: Our venue allows us to bring in outside food, so we invite you to BYOL - Bring Your Own Lunch! Coffee and water will be available. If desired, you may bring your own food and beverage, such as a bagged lunch or take-out meal. Dessert will be provided for all by our January Dessert Sponsor.
